Common Culture 2016
Common Culture: Across the Water celebrated intersections of island culture and living legends in Los Angeles at the historic Ford Theatres in Hollywood.
We gathered some of the best music and dance that Los Angeles has to offer with a mix of reggae, Afrobeat, jazz, electronic, pop and soul. The dancers, Kimberly Miguel Mullen, Kati Hernandez and Nonosina wove in traditional movement and drums, all in celebration of the legendary Cuban performer, Maestro Lazaro Galarraga and soul/funk singer Afrodyete, best known for her work with the legendary Breakestra.
Featuring Chloe x Halle, Mark de Clive-Lowe, Jungle Fire, Brit Manor and Captain Planet, the concert brought together celebrated musicians, singers, drummers and dancers who have achieved national and international success to honor legends in the music community.
